Do I need a consultation and how much does a consultation cost?
You will need an initial consultation and it is absolutely FREE. Your consultation will last approximately fifteen to twenty minutes and at that time, we’ll assess your needs, your desired look and answer any questions that you have. You will then receive an accurate, “no hidden surprises” quote and we’ll also be able to schedule your first appointment.
Do you accept walk-ins?
Unfortunately, we cannot accept walk-ins. Unlike regular salon services, it takes approximately two to three days to order and receive your custom-matched hair. For this reason, we do require an initial free consultation. However, at the time of your consultation, we can generally schedule your extension application to take place within the same week.
What kind of hair do you use?
We use hand-tied 100% human hair that can be washed, conditioned, colored, blow-dried and styled as if it were your own.
How long does the extension application take?
Depending entirely on the extension method that you select, the application can take as little as 45 minutes or as long as two hours. After you select an extension method, we will then be able to give you an accurate time frame.
How do I know which method to choose?
The method that you select will be based on several factors. We will assist you in determining the most optimal method for you; based upon your needs, lifestyle, “hair habits” and budget. We will always offer a method that is best suited to you.
Will people be able to tell that I’m wearing extensions?
Only if you tell them! No one will be able to see your extensions; however, family and friends might ask after your secret for looking so great (and P.S…we LOVE referrals!).
Do I need to change how I style my hair?
Absolutely not! You can still use your favorite hair products, hot tools and styling brushes. You can still enjoy a “Brazilian” hair treatment with your current stylist. We will offer you helpful tips to maximize the life of your extensions and keep them looking great.
Does it hurt to have extensions applied?
Application and/or maintenance tightening is not a painful process. Once application or maintenance tightening is completed, you will feel as though your hair is being worn in a tight ponytail. However, this feeling will dissipate within 24 hours or less.
How often will I need to see you?
The LUMARIN method lasts approximately two to three months. Tapes last six to eight weeks and individual extensions can last three to four months.
Do I have to repurchase extensions every time I come in?
No! Depending on several factors (hair care routine, hair color, extension method, etc.), your extensions can be reused numerous times. You will pay only for the maintenance tightening of the extensions, which is necessary due to your own hair’s natural growth.
Can I purchase hair from a beauty supply store or an online marketplace and have Lumarin Extensions apply them for me?

Will I be able to go swimming, skiing, etc., with my extensions?
Absolutely! Simply wear your hair in a low ponytail at the nape of your neck. Be sure to use a “scrunchy” or other thickly-wrapped protective hair elastic (NEVER use a rubber band) and you’re ready to go!
My hair is thin and fine. I don’t want super long hair but I’d like to add thickness and volume. Are extensions right for me?
Extensions aren’t simply for those who wish to have long hair. Many women have fine, thin and/or thinning hair and simply want to create more volume – and extensions are perfect for this purpose. During your consultation, we will go over your goals, the look that you wish to achieve and any concerns that you have.
